True, but that does not explain why many other equally high resolution cameras -- or even higher pixel density ones, such as the 24MP NEX7 and Nikon D3200 -- come with AA filter; with no option not to have one.
It seems to me that manufacturers are not quite decided on the merits of having an AA filter and at what point the benefits outweigh the costs. There does not seem to be much consistency in non-AA implementation. Almost a matter of belief, eg Leica does not have AA filters right from the start, regardless of resolution.
