Answer I received from Pixel:
There are 2 connectors in TD383, but they can be used only when connect to flash. You can use power pack for battery charging as long as there are 2 connectors in Nikon flash. Single pc port can not be used, and can not work with triggers.
Which I guess means no.
Above reply suggests a cold-shoe which is one idea.
I think Joe McNally used the SD-8A's - may chance contacting him or one of his techies.
