lenses for Italy...?

Thanks for all the advice and great photos above! I'll plan to to take them all and just buff up for the trip.

I do have a small travel MEFOTO tripod. I think it is about 2.5 lbs. I know there will be times to have it, but I wonder how often will it be practical or allowable to use the tripod.

Surely not on the streets of Rome or the like (big target for theft), but maybe in those more laid back areas.

How useful is a tripod for travel to you?
