Show Your Snaps...September 10, 2012
Sep 11, 2012

We invite you again to show your own snapshots or even choice pictures. Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each other and it's fun to share too.

This past Saturday there was the Celebration Parade in Beaverton, Oregon. They changed the parade route, so that this year I was able to pick a location where I was better able to take advantage of the lighting on this sunny morning. I was looking forward to getting good photos with lots of action. I don't think we could have picked a better day for that.

We will start a new thread for this every week now due to the popularity. I'll be sure to comment also to your images, if you choose to share. Thanks everyone for your participation.

Photo No. 1 - What I was looking for, was to try and capture those great expressions. Here's one that I liked.

Canon T2i (550D), 55-250mm IS lens, ISO800, F16, 1/500, 55mm FL

Photo No. 2 - I was pleased to have gotten this one with the person being in the center of the hula-hoop.

Canon T2i (550D), 55-250mm IS lens, ISO800, F16, 1/640, 60mm FL

Photo No. 3 - I made an effort to get as close as possible to the parade participants without interfering with their march. As a result, I think these kinds of pictures turned out well.

Photo No. 4 - Here's a fellow photographer that wasn't shy about getting photos.

Canon T2i (550D), 55-250mm IS lens, ISO800, F16, 1/640, 55mm FL

Photo No. 5 - He had some nice Canon DSLR equipment and like myself he carried two cameras with lenses attached. I was impressed at his boldness and creativity.

Canon T2i (550D), 55-250mm IS lens, ISO800, F16, 1/500, 55mm FL

Photo No. 6 - Here some more pictures showing the good position that I had with the lighting.

Photo No. 7 - Often I waited as long as I could to get those closeups. Then I would move aside to the sidewalk.

Photo No. 8 - Here's where I used the 18-55mm lens. They turned out good too.

Canon T2i (550D), 18-55mm IS lens, ISO200, F10, 1/500, 44mm FL

Photo No. 9 - With a wider angle, I could show some of the crowd too, including the general surroundings.

Canon T2i (550D), 18-55mm IS lens, ISO200, F10, 1/500, 33mm FL

Photo No. 10 - I had fun taking some like this, where I would stay in one spot and see how long I could keep snapping away, until moving to the side. I don't know if you all noticed, but I took a lot of these below eye level. I like to experiment with different settings, styles and techniques.
