Nikon Service can't deal with D800 autofocus problem

Tomorrow is another day. Call tomorrow and ask about sending your D800 in for service. Of course, ask if they have a fix yet, which I'm sure they do and will instruct you to send the camera in. In the unlikely event they tell you they don't have a fix, politely and firmly discuss your desire to have a replacement sent.

I can tell you one thing for sure; they didn't offer a replacement or a timeline for getting the problem with my camera resolved.

See above. Set the stage for you to ask for a replacement. I would.
