OM-D with the Oly14-54mm f/2.8-3.5 II 4/3 lens?? Better than kit?

I'm considering the above combination- basically I'm looking for a better "standard zoom" than the 12-50 mm kit lens. How would focusing speed compare between the 2 lenses? It's my understanding it will autofocus on the OM-D, correct? Another possible option would be the 12-60mm f/2.8-4 ED SWD. I don't mind the increased size/weight, but I don't want to lose auto operation/focusing speed... and I don't want to go with a Panasonic lens, as I shoot JPEG- and don't want to deal with CA issues.
