Tokina is going to be a 3rd place, at best. Good lens, but not the performer that the Zeiss or Nikkor is. Very low distortion, a bit soft in the corners wide open, but you can't beat the price: $750 after rebate!
But none of that really matters...
I used to read all the MTF charts and measurebate each lens. Reality does not work that way when you shoot the lens.
In the end, no lens is perfect. Each has advantages and disadvantages. You need to consider very carefully what your needs are and your shooting goals are. It's a complex process of vetting the right lens for you.
Rent some lenses and see what is best for you .
Just look at a lens how it behaves in real world photograpy. Lab-tests are considered way to important.
