Taking the 5D3 plunge

Perhaps my observations are a bit premature since I don't have a lot of time with the 24-105. But my general feeling is the 17-55 has a smoother bokeh. It's a great lens for a crop sensor as it should be for $1,050. I will keep shooting with the 24-105 and may keep it for video. It's a bargain for the price but if I want that buttery background I may have to go with the new 24-70 but I will wait for the reviews.
