As a true pocket-able compact, I think the RX100 is a milestone like the good old Fuji F10/F30. It is amazing for Sony to produce comparable result to M43 with a smaller 1" sensor. D7000 should have more "horsepower" but typical F/3.5 lens starts with almost 2 stops disadvantage, so the RX100 should able to keep up. For best result, D7000 wins, but RX100 is my first choice if I need to bring a camera for travel purpose.
