Why would you expect Sony to make a way to disable preflash on a pocket camera that 99.999999% of people buying it aren't going to use for studio work ??

Why not buy a compact with a hotshoe if you want a studio camera ??

Given your needs are in the minority, rather than blaming Sony, you should find a means to make it work if you want to use your camera in a less than typical means

"Or shall I let Seagull SYK-5 come to the rescue"

I use mine with the cheap Yongnuo speedlights, they are very powerful and only about $70 on Amazon (in the US at least)

They have an optical slave that can ignore a preflash so they fire with the RX100 flash just fine.

Given the fast sync of the RX100, I've gotten some great results at up to 1/2000th of a second with it, just like my old Fuji X100

More productive to find solutions than get pi#sed at companies not making things the way you want
