28-105 Worth Repairing?

I have an old 28-105mm that I have enjoyed for many years. The zoom mechanism is starting to bind, but otherwise the lens is in great condition. Is it worth getting repaired or should I move on to a newer 24-120 f4 or 24-120 f3.5-5.6 . I mostly use the lens for snapshots and walkarounds... I have a set of primes for more serious stuff.
