G series face detect : raw vs JPEG
Sep 7, 2012

Just processing some G5 shots in LR 4 and have noticed with some outdoor portraits shot using face detect AF that the JPEGs all look slightly lighter than the Raws in LR and especially on the face - I know that face detect is also supposed to bias the exposure with the idea being that the face is exposed 'correctly' but seeing this difference between the JPEGs and Raws is making me wonder if this holds for raws or is JPEG only? p.s. - I have other examples showing the same - this is definitely not just a one-off to do with this specific image

Example:

Here is the OOC JPEG

and here is the raw from LR4 with all sliders left at default
