DdOMark: RX100 destroys Nikon 1; beats M4/3 too

There are only two words to describe the RX100's effect on the high end compact market: Total Domination. Its dynamic range and color depth at low ISOs not only blow away other small sensor compacts and MILCS but even rival current entry and mid-level APS-C DSLRs for image quality. And with a fixed f/1.8 lens, base ISO can go quite a long way and with a huge resolution of 20 megapixels.

Fortunately M4/3's sensors are improving and it will be interesting to see how the E-M5 (any time now!), GF5, and G5 test out, but it could not be more clear that at the very least the RX100 has left last year's competition similarly-priced competition in the dust.
