I have the lx5 and really happy about it, yet now acquire the x10 solely because of the viewfinder, based on reviews and samples the image quality of these two are actually quite close (the lx5 has better video too:)
So as a dslr replacement i would actually recommend a m43 or the x-e1 since the weight and size would be almost the same with undiscussable better image quality, and having a good evf would be a pleasure for almost all shooting
The optical viewfinder is the x10 when you want to
feel
your image and have eye-contact when shooting people , otherwise it is too heavy and short on battery to justify it
