Lens Recommendation

I am looking for a few ideas from you guys. I have an A65 and I am looking for a good portrait lens as well as one zoom lens.

Yes I am on a budget (can always upgrade later) as I am just starting this. What do you recommend as some entry level lenses to start with. The kit lens just seems to be OK, but nothing spectacular from it. I dont want old crappy lenses, but something decent to match this.

I heard the camera is capable of alot more once getting a different lens. I was looking at the sony 18250 and tamron 18270 but don't know if I should get one portrait and one seperate zoom?

Any input is appreciated.
