The 12-50 is an amazing lens. Without a doubt the best "kit" lens I've ever owned including my Nikon DSLR kits. It is extremely sharp, weather sealed, wide (24mm equiv.) and includes a superb macro function. In addition, it has the ability to switch to power the zoom for video. I believe if this lens sold separately for a grand it would still be worth it. Obviously, it's not particularly fast but if you are in low light if performs fine wide open at 12mm. I have a 7-14, a 25mm 1.4, and a 45-200. They are all fantastic lens and get used plenty. But, the 12-50 is on the camera 80% of the time and I'm thrilled with the results.
