Lens choice is entirely up to you, I have shot with nearly every focal length under the sun and generally gravitate towards 50mm and 85mm. Just keep experimenting with what you have until you develop your own system for street. For example if I know the space will be very crowded, then it's the 50mm, if I know I will have some distance and space, then it's the 85mm. If it's very tight and very small space, then the 20mm.
