5D Mark III beyond repair? Need repair advice.

I wore flip-flops, which is common for me (though not anymore while I'm carrying a camera). I was chasing this heron through a saltmarsh and my feet got muddy. While climbing up an incline the mud between my foot and flip-flop caused my foot to slip, costing me $860.

At this point the repair bill is actually a relief to me, because the first repair shop told me the camera was totaled :).
