Do horizons always need to be straight?

Do horizons always need to be straight?

Well of course not always, but I usually do make the effort to straighten them especially with landscape shots.

Sometimes however, I think a slanted horizon adds something to the shot.

With this seagull shot I get the feeling I’m flying right behind the gull and making a left bank turn with him, as if we are flying together.

Anyone agree?
