7D Mark II rumour

Thanks for all the help in my other thread where I had my first test of the D300s. It is very much valued and appreciated. I made my switch with the thinking Nikon will eventually upgrade the D300s, so I hope the Canon rumor is true and that Nikon comes up with something similar.

I am happy with making the switch back to Nikon and each person has to really evaluate what they want to shoot, what they do shoot, and if it really makes sense to switch. When I first switched from Nikon the Canons were clearly better at high iso sports shooting, never regretted the switch. A little more than a year later Nikon came out with their better sensors, but still had no regrets.

I switched back to Nikon because of the D800s better resolution and dynamic range. The cost really was not that great to switch because no matter what I was going to upgrade my Canon 70-200 2.8 IS I to the newer lens and the 5DM2 to a newer body (and the D800 was $500 less than the M3). I think the differences now will become less and less noticeable. But a big if is that I am assuming there will be a D400 or something similar. As we have discussed a DX body with a high frame rate is made for sports and for many that can't justify the D4 and more expensive glass needed to make up for that extra reach. So I have my fingers crossed that Nikon will give us something similar to the rumored 7D upgrade.
