It's like if you annoy someone, that person may just ignore you. But at a certain point you may annoy someone so much and to such a degree that they'll pop a fist in your face. That's basically what Apple did to Samsung. Samsung copied so much that Apple could no longer ignore them, and so Apple popped a fist in their face to put them back in their place.
