last night my nx100 started to fail. first the playback button didn't work. then the top wheel. also, the flat joy-stick wheel. it seemed that it was 10X worse with the camera in vertical position. long exposures in M were a guessing game as I couldn't review the shot.
finally i gave up.
i charged the battery over-night and removed/put back on the lens. a quick check shows that the top wheel still doesn't work (sometimes no response, sometimes setting goes in the wrong direction).
i'm not paying to get it fixed so are there any diy suggestions?
Yes, contact cleaning spray. If you don't have that try alcohol but contact cleaning spray is safer. I read about someone opening his nx100, quick search gave this:
Edit: You may not need to open the camera, I'd try without opening it first. spray on the buttons and press a few times to let the contact cleaner get it. It might not work if the contact surface is hidden behind a protective layer. In that case opening it up would be an interesting project
Oh, and snake_b didn't answer your question but gave the suggestion to go for another system, how typical...
