Newborn lens - need help

Hi all

As I am getting ready to greet my first born in a couple of weeks -

I was just about to rent the Canon 35 1.4 & Canon 60mm macro when my wife says " "Why spend money on rental - you may as well just buy the lens ". I then showed her the price and she said "it's ok". So now, before she changes her mind I want to ask the pros here what should I do:
1. Just buy the lens (35 1.4)

2. Any other combination with a total of $1,329. ( I was thinking Sigma 30.14, Canon 60mm macro and 430 ex II )
