polarizer and u4/3 questions

1) is there any benefit to either linear or circular polarizer on u4/3? I know that a circular polarizer isn't needed for the E-M5 so I should just go for a linear, right?

2) for u4/3 what focal lengths are considered too wide for use with a polarizer (eg the effect isn't as wide as the lens field of view)
