I had a Sony a550 for over a year and never observed sensor dirt within my usual aperture range, never much more than f11. However, that has not been the case with the a77. It has occurred twice. Using the sensor cleaning mode and a rocket blower never resulted in complete removal. One time the object just moved to another place on the sensor. Both times a type 2 Sensor Swab did remove it. At the moment I have dust on the sensor that is only visible against a blue sky at f22 or above. I could leave it alone I suppose but I plan on cleaning it again next week with a Sensor Swab before leaving on a trip to the Texas desert.
