Press the playback button then the AF button and it plays OK. IF YOU PRESS THE PLAYBACK BUTTON AND THEN THE RHS 4-WAY BUTTON THE SOFTWARE SEARCHES FOR THE NEXT - AS YET UNRECORDED - VIDEO AND YOU GET THE ERROR MESSAGE.

No, if you press the right key on the last file it loops back to the first.
The only times I've had this message appear is when deleting files manually.

So I guess you deleted some video files manually from the card on a computer, and the first happens to be one of them.

Deleting the actual .MTS or .MP4 video files does not remove them from the media database, so the camera still thinks they're there and they still appear in the list. But when you try to play them the camera can't find the files and you get the error.

It's not a software bug, it's user misuse. You simply shouldn't be deleting the files off-camera.

BTW, if you press the DISP button to get the info overlay you'll see that you're simply on the first file, nothing is acting weird. To get rid of the orphaned items, simply delete the affected videos as if they were still there.
