Uni-Loc 1700 vs. Benbo Trekker Mk1 / Mk2 / Mk3

I owned a Benbo 2 in the past and was quite happy with its flexibility, but didn't care for the size and heft. I'm now considering a Benbo Trekker and possibly a Uni-Loc 1700 which I hear is supposed to be similar (though it's nowhere to be found on their website). I'd appreciate any input about these tripods, and also about the differences between the three generations of the Trekker, as I saw a local ad for an old made-in-England Trekker, which is supposedly not the latest generation. I wonder if there's anything significant I'd be missing by not going for the Mk3.
