Nikon 28-105mm f3.5-4.5 sharpness test

I used mine quite happily at f/8 or so and was pretty happy with the results. I often reminded myself that it isn't a $1500 lens; it's a $150 lens. I found that I could get quite good results used within its limitations. I did not expect, nor did I get, great results wide open.
