I rather think you answered your own question.

They are failing because

1) They stock garbage consumer stuff that photographers aren't interested in.
2) They try and make 400% profit on accessories.

3) I f they don't have it they say "we can get it in for you". Yeah, ever heard of online shopping with free next day delivery at half what you're asking?

4) They aren't B&H or Adorama and they bank on their customers having never heard of them.

5) In summary, they cater to the uninformed and indiscriminate and in doing so they cannot compete with large department stores.
