Aperture won't display star ratings!

Hi...

i've been using Aperture for a number of years now.

new laptop... so i uploaded a new Aperture (3.3)

it won't display my star ratings (only in the info display) but not on the images.

this has been frustrating me for a while now... can't work out why... unless my Aperture (downloaded) is corrupt? everything else seems fine.

however it also will not display colour ratings (on the photo... only in the info panel...)

searched to see if it was disabled somewhere? but seems not...

any suggestions, tips, advice would be much appreciated
