Travel Tripod - not monopod
I've been using a tripod for sunrise, sunset and some waterfalls photos. Most recently in Glacier NP several weeks ago.
I only took with a small backpack and a carry-on.
Not wanting to risk (confiscate?) getting on a plane with a tripod hanging from my backpack I picked up a Manfrotto MKC3-H01. Unfortunately it's for video recorders as well as for stills. I find the head movement quit clumsy. Not really my issue.
While I'm quite pleased with it's performance having carried it on selected hikes and found it quite light and reasonably steady, I thing it's not rock solid so noticable at shutter speeds under 1/15th or 1/10 sec (I think).
I'd like to try something else in the same size range that might serve the purpose.
Under 19" folded an less than 3 pounds.
I've seen pictures of the Vanguard Alta+ 204AP and it looks like it might be somewhat better.
Anybody have this tripod or some other that might satisfy my need?
