Thanks for a balanced answer. I have have no idea whether JPEG or RAW is "best"....and probably never will because all I care about is what I see with my own eyes...I'm sure there's a more "scientific" answer, and I don't think that's a bad thing to question the technical aspects - I've just read Edward Weston's daybooks for the second time and he obviously he had the same concerns with film in the 1920s and 30s! I'm just interested in why people say a certain RAW file is better than the OOC JPEG? Of course this is subjective, and yes, I developed RAW files when I had my Canon 5D Mk II, and they were better than the JPEGs, but since I've had the X-Pro 1, I haven't been able to do that. I'm not a Fuji fan boy...have only ever had Canon, Olympus, Leica and Praktica. So I'm genuinely interested is seeing RAWs from the X-pro that beat the OOC Jpegs.
