Getting photos off of the iPhone and into an external drive without a computer

I am about to go on a trip where my wife's iPhone will serve as the camcorder and p&s camera. The problem I have is that it has limited storage and I don't intend on bringing a computer where I could download the pictures. I was hoping that one of the new wireless drives (G-Connect, Wi-Drive, etc.) would allow me to transfer files off the phone, but alas I haven't found a solution that will actually transfer (not just copy) the files. I will also have an iPad. It's unlikely that I will have access to a high speed connection that would allow me to upload to Dropbox or some other service.
