is the G12 the last, and the G1X a new beginning?

It makes sense to me, there was a G1 to G12 (a G8 would be disrespectful in Japan). I would say that the G1X is the start of a new line. Still a (compact?) Powershot, but why would they go back to the smaller sensor? Technology goes forward, anyhow how high would they go, G14 just doesn't sound right. I say the 1" sensor G2X is next! ... Joe Prete
