the "painterly look" is produced by Panasonic's JPG engine. That's what it seems to do, always. If you look closely at the "Deere" picture in your gallery, it's there too.

In order to get rid of it, I suggest you shoot RAW. You might want to google the words "RAW vs JPG" to find a whole lot of other reasons to shoot RAW.
