I spoke to CarrySpeed
In reply to Liz Z., Aug 28, 2012

I just called CarrySpeed, the distributor of this filter, which is called the Magfilter, and I spoke to the inventor/engineer himself (this is not the same person as the one behind Cheesycam--confusing). He said they will actually be for sale at their website ( http://www.carryspeed.com/products/magfilter ) on Thursday 8/30. He suspects they will sell out quickly once they are available on line.

He also said they are using a high quality Japanese multi-coated glass for the filter itself, and that the magnets will in no way have a negative impact on the electronics of the camera.

I couldn't tell if it was sold out or not yet actually available. I don't think the kit sale was "live" until this morning! It will cost $24.99 for the circular polarizer kit.

The filter has been officially announced, however the first batch has already been sold out.
