Nikon 18-300 Focus/Sharpness/Settings?
Aug 27, 2012

I just shot some pictures with my brand new Nikon 18-300 and I’m not sure about the focus/sharpness.

Here I uploaded some pictures and a couple of shots of a Focus Chart I downloaded from the web.

All the pictures (but the plane’s at 300mm) were open with NX2 and then saved as JPG without altering anything. The plane’s was open with ACR and saved from Adobe Photoshop CS6 without PP.

My doubt is that most of the pictures look too soft for me, but probably it’s just me, wrong settings? I don’t know…

For example, I tried several shots of the flowers and some of the horses and they look like out of focus?

I’ll appreciate any help and if others D7K+18-300 users can provide some examples, pictures, settings, to compare quality and others.

BTW: For the Adobe CS6 Photoshop users, what are your Default Sharpening settings?

Thanks in advance,
