Dropped D800e
Aug 27, 2012

I ordered a D800e in March, finally got one last week and one of the first things I proceeded to do was let it drop off a table about 2 1/2 feet onto a hardwood floor. I don't know what part of the camera hit the floor; I just heard a thud and and saw it sitting there. You can imagine my reaction.

It seems to be working fine, but I was wondering if anyone knew of an obvious way to know if any serious damage has been done? I'm obviously new to the camera (as well as the world of 36 mp) and I'm wondering if my lack of familiarity would prevent me from detecting any subtle problems.

Has anyone out there had a similar experience? Is there a relatively simple test I could conduct to reveal any damage?

Thanks for any thoughts.
