Your post is the kind of forum banter that drives me nuts. You clearly know nothing about focal length, composition and you try to blame your equipment? Compositionally, you were shooting a wide lens really close to a vertical object and expecting it not to be distorted?

Mike, why make it a crime to ask a question?

Why punish the questioner - you want him to go somewhere else?

Better to just ignore someone who doesn't know as much as you, so you don't have to feel diminished by answering in a kindly fashion.

BTW Panasonic seems to be able to handle in-camera lens correction at these focal lengths quite well. There are others, too. Oh, Pentax even do it quite well.
