The phase 35mm is a f3.5 and I'd say I have been disappointed with exposures over 100 asa at night, so sticking to f3.5 and 50asa means long exposures are your only choice,

I'd forgotten about the 14-24 maybe worth hiring one to take

Someone said to me too to leave the cameras (not memory cards or batteries) in a cold room if possible and never take them inside all week is that what you would expect? Maybe impractical though if there is nowhere to lock them!
