HX200 - Wearing Out Zoom Lever?

My real question is how long does it take Sony to repair & return a camera if sent back via Best Buy? I'm scheduling a trip to photograph pronghorn antelope in a few weeks & want the camera fixed or a replacement. I'll quiz Best Buy tomorrow, but was wondering if anyone here has had experience with this. Basically, when zooming in or out, releasing the lever doesn't stop the zoom. It just keeps on going and going until it hits the min or max W or T. No telling how many thousands of times I've zoomed, but thought it would last at least a year...it's only a few months old.

Nothing wrong with the photos, just the lever!
