Camera for Street Shooting

The reason i was considering a different camera and lenses was for the portraits. Doesn't a 35mm lens cause distortion when one is close?

Also sometimes one needs a longer lens..

I thought about the M8 but i just don't want to be hassled with the calibrations with lenses that rangefinders need to get done. Sending it to and fro Leica is a hassle.

I thought about the GX1..does it have better IQ than the OMD?
