Which Combo is better for my D800
Aug 23, 2012

i would really appreciated your input. I am just wonder which lens will be better with D800 Nikkor 24-120mm f/4G or Nikkor 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G

Currently i have 24-120 and nothing bad about this lens, however, i am looking for 300mm lens and my choice is either tamron 70-300 or nikon 70-300. but then this 28-300 come up which somewhat better rating than 70-300 and will be one less len for me to carry...

i am thinking to sell my 2 months old 24-120 and get 28-300 instead of either buying 70-300 from Nikon or Tamron... Do you think that is a better for all around lens with D800? or should i stick with my 24-120?

and between Tamron and Nikon 70-300, which one is better, Tamron has rebate right now and cost around 350 while the nikon is in 550... but i would like to just compare in term of IQ, not pricing between two.

Again i am appreciated all of your input
