No offense intended and sorry for the tangent question, but why do you need a DSLR and the NEX-5N when hiking?

Something to consider I guess.
So far, on the Spider one I have only used it on my belt at my waist - haven't tried attaching it to a backpack strap yet. It works well on my belt with the NEX-5N and largish 55-210mm lens with a 1.7x teleextender screwed onto the end - it hangs down nicely, doesn't bounce when I walk, and I don't really feel the weight...and it remains easily grabbable one-handed. Since I'm usually handholding my DSLR with a big 300mm prime at the same time, it's nice to have the mirrorless along for easy grabbing rather than tucked away in a bag, so I can alternate between two bodies as needed.
