Sigma 18-250mm Macro (new) Vs Tamron 18-270mm PZD vs Canon 18-200mm
Aug 23, 2012

I am in the this dilemma of getting Zoom lens. Started comparing Sigma 18-250mm old Tamron 18-270PZD and Canon 18-200mm. What I have realized after using my Canon 550D with 50mm 1.8 prime lens is people appreciate your sharp photos which makes it outstanding from the normal digital cam. So for me quality and sharpness is everything. While comparing rigourosly from many reliable websites I realized that Canon 18-200mm was scoring the lowest in terms of heavy barrel distortion, sharpness in some test, and couple of other factors. Then I came down comparing Tamron 18-270 pzd & old Sigma 18-250mm in which Tamron was scoring well. I was almost convinced to buy Tamron but then I found out there is a new version of Sigma 18-250mm Macro and OMG I was blown away with the comparisons. Although there is not a huge difference but the the sharpness is well maintained in all the focal lenght across 18-250mm. Below is the link which Iv found out to compare. I have not made up my mind yet but I am highly likely that I would go for New Sigma 18-250 macro lens. I will still wait for some more reviews on Sigma 18-250mm Macro.

Canon EOS 550D (EOS Rebel T2i / EOS Kiss X4)
