7D today, maybe 5D tomorrow. Lenses?

17-40L is a good one, I had it on a crop & then went up to a 5D2

Its a very good walk around on the crop (27-64 effectively) and then a great wide angle on the full frame.

very high quality lens, cheap, built well etc. I've had mine 7 years & its still probably my most used lens

Other than that, as other have said, you are really looking at the 70-200 / 70-300 etc, the 24-70 / 24-105 are great lenses on full frame but a bit limited on a crop.
