I agree. The photos of the other photographer's work have perfect lighting (overcast, shade, etc...) and excellent composition. The photos you are retouching have very distracting backgrounds, for example, while the other photographer has removed any unimportant elements from his photos. These aren't things you can reproduce in Photoshop.

The first photo has three people an ugly tree, a staircase, and stuff on the staircase in the background. The second has little to distract. The lines of the triangle of purple fabric lead your eye directly to the faces of the newlyweds.
