That might be a limitation on the PC side, but on the Mac it supports Spotlight index, and you can search computer-wide up to 10,000 returns. If 10,000 or more returns it will tell you to narrow your search. FYI

Their SQL catalog add-on (which they have been talking about for > 2 years) is, in theory coming out in 2012 and I expect it will allow the same power. If so I'm going to be using it instead of idImager.

You can sort by lens but I am not seeing focal length.
