I didn't mean to step on your toes. I did read your post,
but I thought that the OP needed to know that the raw file
aspect ratio is not actually changed when the camera is set to

16:9, but a crop overlay is created that will cause the raw file to be displayed at a 16:9 aspect ratio in ACR, Lightroom and at least some other raw editors, but that checking a certain boxi n IDC (I cannot remember, but I guess it is the "3:2" box you mentioned) will cause the raw file to display the entire image at its native resolution.

The OP may not even need to convert the image to DNG in IDC. As I remember it, simply changing the aspect ratio back to its native resolution in IDC may be enough to delete the overlay and cause it to appear at its native resolution in other programs.
