infrared on the cheap

I am using a Nikon d50 (filter does not block IR) with a Cokin p007 filter that blocks most non IR light. You have to forget your good camera technique. I use a tripod, focus without the IR filter at f8 and make the composition because you cant see anything in the viewfinder with the cokin on. Then I try various long exposures until I can see something decent on the screen. For editing I reduce wb and tint drastically, then use other adjustments ad lib. I do not use a set formula because I dont want every shot to be the same end result. this is admittedly crude but can produce pleasing (to me) results.
